I can’t tell you the last time I wore or purchased a pair of high heels. After having foot surgery, I swore up-and-down that I was no longer going to force myself to wear shoes or anything for that matter that I did’t feel 100% comfortable in. -And yes, I’m still sticking to it.- But fast forward to a month ago when I saw these beauties on Farfetch and immediately added them to my wishlist in hopes of them going on sale. Welp, they did and let me just say, I’m OBsessed!

Not only are they crazy comfortable but I love the minimal design and aesthetic. And though pvc and toe ring details are a big trend at the moment, this is definitely a shoe I know will stand the test of time with my personal style. Now they have gone back up to full price -you can ask Farfetch about that- however, Net-A-Porter also has them and I’m pretty sure they’ll go on sale during sale season. I also recommend sizing up as they’re made in Italy and run small. But other than that, BOMB!

SLIP SOMETHIN'

I’ve been into slip dresses for several seasons now however, finding the “perfect” one has taken even longer. I came across this one from Aritzia last year and immediately ordered it hoping it would be my go-to for something simple yet sophisticated -and yes, even a little sexy- and much to my surprise, it was. It’s no secret that slip dresses tend to accentuate everything you want to hide but this one ladies, it’s just built different.

Unashamedly, I ordered it in two other colors -one of which is on my IG- because as a girl with curves, finding the right slipdress is hard to come by. And even for $118 a pop, it was well worth it.

Suits + Sustainability

It’s pretty safe to say I’ve been on a major thrifting kick as of late. Over the past few months, I’ve made it a point to educate myself more on sustainability, recycling and simply consuming less when it comes to all things fashion. I’m making a conscious effort to prioritize my wardrobe wants vs. needs and to only invest -at least for now- in pieces I believe will elevate my style and stand the test of time.

But on to the suit!

I’m REALLY into neutrals and recently thrifted both the blazer and shorts separately from the men’s section. I believe the shorts were $5 and the blazer was $7. I had both pieces dry cleaned and the shorts let out at the bottom as I’m loving the look of longer hems. I topped the look with my new favorite Lele Sadoughi headband, my go-to white mules and these #oldceline sunnies I recently purchased that I’ll be wearing forever-and-ever.

30 + THANKFUL

I’ve known all throughout my 20’s that my 30’s would be my glow-up years. A lot more financially stable, though nowhere near the finish line, pleased with the trajectory of my career and most importantly, more loving, caring and accepting of the woman God has created me to be. I’m thankful for everything my 20’s has taught me, even the ugly-cry moments and am truly looking forward to what God has in store for the next chapter of my life. Thankful to see 30 is an understatement.
