For the last year-or-so, I felt the Holy Spirit both leading & convicting me to unfollow & unsubscribe from all content doesn’t feed & edify my spirit, particularly that of fashion.

Now I’d be lying if I said I immediately obeyed as I, like many of us, tried to justify who I continued to follow w/ the excuse of, “I love their style!” “They have great taste!” or, “They follow me too!” etc, etc, etc…

However, as the conviction got heavier alongside my now blatant disobedience, I eventually came to my wits, repented & thus, went on an all-out unfollowing spree.

As I continue in my walk & relationship w/ the Holy Spirit, one thing He’s emphatically teaching me is holiness: being set apart & sacred for God’s useful work. Not just pertaining to the way I live my regular, everyday life, but also in who or what I allow to have influence over me & more importantly, what spirits lie behind them or it.

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6:22-23

Now I won’t lie though! — I’ve had a slight inner battle unfollowing certain creators as again, I love their personal style & hearing their perspectives on fashion-focused topics. And to make it even harder, some of them regularly show love & support my content as well! But that aside, I’ve often found my spirit grieved hearing them speak and/or live in a way that blatantly opposes my beliefs. And because of that, I’ve unfollowed many of your favorite creators, favorite creators.

If this is something that you too have been lead to do & have found it challenging, let’s chat about it as I’m often reminded that I’m not alone in such things!

Spring is officially upon us & though I can’t say that we even seen much of a winter here in the Bay Area, for the sake of allergies & formalities, happy spring!

As we all anticipate the coming of warmer weather & lighter layers, I’ve truly been enjoying every aspect of having a more curated & streamlined wardrobe. I spoke about this in detail in my last vlog but just in case you missed it, I’ve been going full-force into a ‘less-is-more’ lifestyle over the last few years & I must admit that I genuinely love it here.

The idea of sifting through endless amount of things only to be left in a state of frustration & irritation & still with nothing to wear has lost its grip over me & if you’re still stuck in its restraints, let me encourage you to pray for deliverance sis. lol

Subsequently, I’m reminded in Matthew 6:19-21, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

In hindsight though, I’ve found there to be quite a few vacancies in my closet that I’d slowly like to fill. My goal going forward is to focus on adding “heavy-hitting” basics back into to my wardrobe with a focus on functionality & fabrication while of course, still being stylish as well.
