Black White

Blazer: Forever 21 {love this vest version}. Shirt: Gap {recent}. Shorts: H&M. Shoes: Zara {old but loving these}. Sunnies: Karen Walker. Watch: Aldo {similar style here}. Bag: Cambridge Satchel Co. Cuff: Etsy. Rings: James & DeRosa {shop coming soon} & H&M.

So this whole athletic trend thing, I'm kind of digging it.

Though I'm not much of a sneakers & baseball cap kinda girl, there's something ultra chic about tossing on a pair of New Balances {my favorite pair seen here & here} with a structured blazer or even a dress {for a little juxtaposition} that I absolutely love & frankly want more of.

Despite that I'm not wearing my go-to sneaks in this post, I was inspired by their eye-catching color

{hence the fluro bag} & "cool factor" {i.e. my leather shorts & perforated top} & wanted to see how I could pull off a sporty look without actually wearing my sneakers.

I think I did pretty good if you ask me.

Now if you're looking to experiment with the athletic trend but don't know how, try incorporating one or two key pieces for starters. A pair of bold sneakers & a statement baseball cap can take any casual {& yes, even dressy} look & add an effortless, sporty touch without being overwhelming or even worse, inauthentic.

Happy sporting!
